Energy-electricity cuts Thai inflation to 0.22% for the first time in 13 months

Today (May 6, 2025), Mr. Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, Director of the Office of Trade Policy and Strategy (OTPS) and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, revealed that the Consumer Price Index (General Inflation) for April 2025 was 100.14, compared to April 2024, down 0.22%, the first decrease in 13 months after being negative continuously in October 2023-March 2024, with the main factor being the decrease in the prices of energy products, including gasohol, gasoline, and electricity costs, following the situation of the world oil price that has decreased.
